Kazumoto Kanemaru is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Minami-Alps City in Yamanashi Prefecture. Born in 1949, he graduated from Rikkyo University before beginning his career in local leadership, including serving as the director of the Kyosai Junior Chamber. He was first elected to the Minami-Alps City Council in 2004 and subsequently served as mayor for three terms starting in 2015. During his tenure, he oversaw various municipal initiatives, including the attraction of Costco to the region. In June 2026, he announced his intention to retire from the mayoral office at the end of his current term.
