杉本和範

Kazunori Sugimoto is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Obama, Fukui Prefecture. Born in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture, he graduated from Konan University before working in research and sales roles in Nagoya. In 2011, he moved to Obama, where his family has historical roots. He began his political career as a member of the Obama City Council, serving two terms starting in 2019. In 2024, he was elected Mayor of Obama after defeating the incumbent candidate. He was also a founding member of the regional political party Fukuinoto in 2023.
