Kazutoshi Kongo is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Uda City in Nara Prefecture. Born in 1957 in Nara City, he graduated from Kyoto University with a degree in civil engineering and later completed his graduate studies there. Before entering politics, he had a long career as a technical official at the Nara Prefectural Government, where he specialized in urban planning and infrastructure development, eventually serving as the director of the Machizukuri Promotion Bureau. He was first elected as Mayor of Uda in 2020 and was re-elected to a second term in 2024.
