Kazuya Sugimoto is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Ito City in Shizuoka Prefecture. Born in 1982, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ritsumeikan University and completed his studies at the Aichi University Law School. Before entering politics, he worked for the Shizuoka Automobile School and the Aira Izu Agricultural Cooperative, later becoming a certified administrative scrivener. Sugimoto served two terms as a member of the Ito City Council starting in 2019. In December 2025, he was elected as the youngest mayor in the history of Ito City at the age of 43, following the removal of his predecessor from office.
