Kenji Asano is a Japanese politician currently serving his fourth term as the Mayor of Kakamigahara in Gifu Prefecture. Born in 1972, he began his political career as a member of the Kakamigahara City Council, where he served for three terms and held positions including Vice Chairman and Chairman. In 2013, he was first elected mayor and has since overseen significant municipal projects, including the construction of a new city hall completed in 2021. Asano is also a founding member of the 'Gifu Leaders Association,' a study group focused on developing future regional leadership.
