八島堅志

Kenji Yashima is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Ama City in Aichi Prefecture. Born in 1987 in Nagoya, he graduated from Chubu University before working in the plumbing materials industry and later as an executive at Yashima Engineering. Yashima began his political career as a member of the Ama City Council, serving two terms. After an unsuccessful bid for mayor in 2022, he was elected as the Mayor of Ama City in 2026, defeating the incumbent candidate with the support of the Japanese Trade Union Confederation (Rengo Aichi).
