Kiryowa Kiwanuka is a Ugandan lawyer, businessman, and politician serving as the Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. Born circa 1973 in Uganda, he earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and a Master of Laws in Petroleum Law and Policy from the University of Dundee. Prior to his government appointments, he co-founded the law firm K&K Advocates and specialized in commercial litigation and energy law. He previously served as the Attorney General of Uganda from 2021 until his appointment to the defence ministry in May 2026.
