Kiyoshi Yamashita is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Seki, Gifu Prefecture. Born in Seki, he graduated from Tokyo University of Agriculture and began his career at the Seki City Hall in 1980. Over his long tenure in local government, he served in various administrative roles, including department head and city office director, before serving as Deputy Mayor from 2019 to 2023. In September 2023, he was elected as the Mayor of Seki, campaigning on a platform of continuing and developing the existing municipal policies, with a focus on corporate attraction, childcare support, urban planning, and the renovation of municipal schools.
