Larry Whitty, Baron Whitty

Larry Whitty, Baron Whitty, is a British Labour Party politician and life peer who has served as a Member of the House of Lords since 1996. Educated at St John's College, Cambridge, he previously held significant roles including General Secretary of the Labour Party from 1985 to 1994, where he played a key role in the party's internal reforms. He has served in various government positions, including Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions and at DEFRA. Additionally, he was the first Chairman of Consumer Focus, contributing to consumer advocacy and policy development.
