Mahad Said Baawain

Mahad Said Baawain is an Omani politician and academic who has served as the Minister of Labour since his appointment on August 18, 2020. Before entering government, he held a distinguished career in academia, serving as an assistant and associate professor at Sultan Qaboos University and as the dean of the International Maritime College Oman. He holds a PhD in environmental engineering from the University of Alberta and has extensive research experience in environmental studies. In 2024, he was awarded the Second Class of the Civil Order of Oman for his public service.
