Marisa Paterson is an Australian politician, anthropologist, and academic who has served as a Member of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly for the electorate of Murrumbidgee since 2020. Before entering politics, she held a distinguished academic career, including serving as the Director of the Centre for Gambling Research at the Australian National University. A fierce advocate for gambling reform, she has campaigned to reduce reliance on poker machine revenue and has championed justice system reforms, including the expansion of restorative justice.
