勝又正美

Masami Katsumata is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Gotemba in Shizuoka Prefecture. Born in Gotemba in 1955, he graduated from the former Tokyo Metropolitan University. Katsumata spent 43 years as a municipal employee for the city of Gotemba, eventually serving as Deputy Mayor starting in 2018. He was first elected mayor in 2021 following the resignation of his predecessor and was re-elected unopposed in 2025. He maintains an independent political stance while receiving support from major political parties.
