Masato Tanigawa is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Hirosaki in Aomori Prefecture. After graduating from Doto University (now Seisa Doto University) in 1992 and working in the private sector, he served as a secretary to House of Representatives member Taro Kimura. He began his political career as a member of the Hirosaki City Council, serving three terms, followed by three terms as a member of the Aomori Prefectural Assembly. In 2026, he was elected Mayor of Hirosaki with the support of Aomori Governor Soichiro Miyashita.
