Matúš Vallo

Matúš Vallo is a Slovak politician, architect, urban activist, and musician currently serving as the Mayor of Bratislava. First elected in 2018 as an independent candidate, he was re-elected in 2022 with the backing of his local party, Team Bratislava, alongside support from Progressive Slovakia and Freedom and Solidarity. An alumnus of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and a former Fulbright scholar at Columbia University, Vallo is known for his focus on urban planning, sustainable green infrastructure, and the modernization of public spaces. His administration established the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava and has prioritized projects such as the 'Vivid Places' initiative to improve urban accessibility and neighborhood quality.
