
Mervan Gül

Mervan Gül is a Turkish politician currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly for the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) representing Siirt. A graduate of Selçuk University with a degree in Geological Engineering, he previously worked as an engineer for the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement. Gül served as the Mayor of Siirt from 2004 to 2009. Notably, he was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2002 but stepped aside to allow Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to run in a by-election, a move that facilitated Erdoğan's entry into parliament.
