Michael Bichard, Baron Bichard

Michael Bichard, Baron Bichard is a British life peer and former senior civil servant. Created a crossbench life peer in 2010, he sits in the House of Lords. His distinguished public service career includes serving as the Permanent Secretary of the Department for Education and Employment and as the chief executive of several local councils. He is well known for chairing the 2004 Bichard Inquiry into the Soham murders and has held leadership roles in various organizations, including the Institute for Government and the University of Gloucestershire.
