Minoru Hoshino is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Numata City in Gunma Prefecture. Born in Katashina Village, he graduated from Kokushikan University before beginning his political career as a secretary to a Gunma Prefectural Assembly member. He was first elected to the Numata City Council in 2003, where he served five terms and held the position of council chair for five years. Hoshino was elected mayor in 2022 and successfully secured re-election in 2026. During his time in the city council, he was affiliated with the Liberal Democratic Party.
