Monica Musenero Masanza is a Ugandan veterinarian, microbiologist, epidemiologist, and politician who serves as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development. She previously served as the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as a senior presidential advisor on epidemics and pandemics. Throughout her career, she has played leading roles in controlling Ebola epidemics in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Sierra Leone, and she also coordinated pandemic responses during the COVID-19 outbreak.
