Paul Hamer is an Australian politician who has served as the Labor Party member for the seat of Box Hill in the Victorian Legislative Assembly since November 2018. Before entering politics, he worked as a civil engineer. In April 2026, he was appointed to the Victorian cabinet, assuming the roles of Minister for Local Government, Minister for Corrections, and Minister for Youth Justice. Hamer, who is Jewish and the son of a Holocaust survivor, grew up in Melbourne and attended Mount Scopus Memorial College and Bialik College.
