Peter Cruddas, Baron Cruddas, is a British businessman, banker, and Conservative peer. He is the founder of the online trading company CMC Markets and has been a significant financial donor to the Conservative Party. In 2021, he was conferred a life peerage by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, despite opposition from the House of Lords Appointments Commission. A prominent Eurosceptic, Cruddas was a major supporter of the Vote Leave campaign. Throughout his career, he has also been active in philanthropy, establishing the Peter Cruddas Foundation to support disadvantaged youth.
