He assumed office in 2022 following a special election victory against Democrat ReZsaun Lewis. Prior to his current legislative role, Robbins served as the First Circuit Solicitor, an appointment he received from Governor Mark Sanford in 2004. He is a member of the Republican Party and continues to represent his district in the state legislature.
