Robert Lucien Jean-Claude Kargougou

Robert Lucien Jean-Claude Kargougou is a Burkinabe public health physician and politician who has served as the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene of Burkina Faso since March 2022. A specialist in health system management and epidemiology, he previously held various administrative roles within the national health sector, including regional health director and chief medical officer. He also worked with UNICEF and the World Bank, focusing on health service strengthening and pandemic response. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in coordinating national health reforms, including the implementation of free healthcare for women and children.
