Sohei Yasuda is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Amami City in Kagoshima Prefecture. Born in 1979 in the former Naze City (now part of Amami), he graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Law in 2002. After working in the private sector and training at the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management, he entered local politics. He served three terms as a member of the Amami City Council before being elected mayor in 2021. He is currently serving his second term as mayor, focusing on local administration and regional development.
