Sangay Dorji

Sangay Dorji is a Bhutanese politician who has served as the 4th Chair of the National Council of Bhutan since 2023. First elected to the National Council in 2018, he represents the Chukha District and was re-elected in 2023. Before entering politics, he worked as an educator and school principal in Chungkha and Mongar from 2004 to 2017. As the presiding officer of the National Council, he plays a key role in the legislative process and the nomination of constitutional posts. He is also a taekwondo instructor.
