Sheena Watt

Sheena Watt is an Australian politician serving as a member of the Victorian Legislative Council for the Northern Metropolitan Region since 2020. A Yorta Yorta woman, she holds the distinction of being the first Indigenous Australian woman to represent the Australian Labor Party in the Parliament of Victoria. Before her parliamentary career, she worked extensively in the union movement and held executive roles at AFL SportsReady, focusing on employment pathways for youth. She is a member of the Labor Left faction and has been a vocal advocate for Indigenous recognition, the Victorian Treaty process, and social justice. Since April 2026, she has served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Public and Active Transport and for Community Sports.
