Sheila Hollins, Baroness Hollins is a British psychiatrist and crossbench life peer in the House of Lords. An Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry of Learning Disability at St George's, University of London, she has dedicated her career to advocating for people with learning disabilities and autism. She founded the charity Books Beyond Words in 1989 and has served as president of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Medical Association. In the House of Lords, she has been a prominent voice for mental health reform, successfully tabling amendments to the Health and Care Act to improve training and care standards for vulnerable individuals.
