Shigeki Takesue is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Nakagawa City in Fukuoka Prefecture. Born in 1952, he began his career as a local government official at the Nakagawa Town Office, where he served as the head of the child-rearing support division. He was first elected as the Mayor of Nakagawa Town in 2008 following a corruption scandal involving his predecessor. Takesue oversaw the transition of Nakagawa from a town to a city in 2018, becoming its first mayor. He has since been re-elected multiple times, most recently securing his fifth term in 2024.
