Shinichi Nakashige is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture. Born in 1977, he graduated from the Waseda University Faculty of Law. Before his tenure as mayor, he served two terms as a member of the Kirishima City Council and two terms as a member of the Kagoshima Prefectural Assembly. After an unsuccessful bid for the mayoral office in 2013, he was first elected as Mayor of Kirishima in 2017 and has since been re-elected, securing his third term in 2025.
