Susantha Kumara

Susantha Kumara Nawarathne is a Sri Lankan politician, farmer, and trade union activist currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Anuradhapura Electoral District. Elected in the 2024 parliamentary election as a candidate for the National People's Power coalition, he has established himself as a prominent advocate for the rights of dairy farmers. Prior to his legislative career, he served as the National Organizer of the National Centre for the Protection of Dairy Farmers, where he campaigned extensively for improved working conditions and fair pricing for the agricultural sector. His political platform focuses on rural development, the improvement of farmers' livelihoods, and the support of community-based cultural activities.
