Takahiro Katsuragawa is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kameoka City in Kyoto Prefecture. Born in Gifu Prefecture, he began his career as a high school teacher before working for the Kameoka City government. He served as a member of the Kameoka City Council and the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly before being elected mayor in 2015. During his tenure, he has championed the construction of the Kyoto Stadium, implemented a partnership oath system for same-sex couples, and engaged in international diplomacy, notably becoming the first Japanese local government leader to visit Ukraine following the 2022 Russian invasion.
