Takehiro Suzuki is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Katagami in Akita Prefecture. Born in 1970 in the former town of Tenno, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Chuo University in 1993 and subsequently worked for the Akita Prefectural Government. He entered politics in 2015, serving two terms as a member of the Akita Prefectural Assembly before being elected as Mayor of Katagami in 2021. He was re-elected to his second term as mayor in 2025. Outside of his political career, Suzuki has a background in sumo, having competed at the high school level.
