郷原拓男

Takuo Gohara is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kanoya City in Kagoshima Prefecture. Born in Kanoya, he graduated from Osaka University and initially worked for Japan Airlines before returning to his hometown to manage a family business. He later earned a master's degree from Kagoshima University. Gohara served three terms as a member of the Kagoshima Prefectural Assembly, representing the Liberal Democratic Party, before resigning to successfully run for mayor in January 2026 as an independent candidate.
