五十嵐立青

Tatsuo Igarashi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Tsukuba, a position he has held since 2016. Born in Tsukuba, he graduated from the University of Tsukuba and later earned a master's degree from University College London. Before his mayoral career, he served two terms as a member of the Tsukuba City Council. Known for his focus on administrative reform, he notably reduced his own mayoral retirement allowance to a symbolic amount and implemented internet-based public evaluation for compensation. He has been recognized for his work in manifest-based governance and inclusive growth, receiving awards from the OECD and the Best Father Yellow Ribbon Award.
