Tatsuyuki Kato is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Ishikari in Hokkaido. Born in 1956, he graduated from the Senshu University Faculty of Law before joining the Hokkaido Prefectural Government in 1980. During his tenure as a civil servant, he gained experience through secondments to the former National Land Agency and the former Autonomy Agency. In 2007, he transitioned to the Ishikari City Office, where he held several key administrative roles, including Director of the Mayor's Policy Office, Director of the Planning and Economy Department, and City Representative Audit Commissioner. He was first elected as Mayor of Ishikari in 2019, succeeding long-serving mayor Katsusuke Taoka.
