Tetsuro Hiraki is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Hashimoto in Wakayama Prefecture, a position he has held for four terms. Born in Hashimoto in 1957, he graduated from Kindai University in 1979 and initially worked for the company Nichii. His political career began with his election to the Hashimoto City Council, where he served for three terms, followed by two terms as a member of the Wakayama Prefectural Assembly. He was first elected mayor in 2014 and has since secured re-election multiple times. Throughout his career, he has been associated with the Liberal Democratic Party, though he currently serves as an independent mayor.
