Tim Ayres is an Australian politician and former trade unionist who has served as a Senator for New South Wales since 2019. A member of the Australian Labor Party, he previously worked as a union organiser and served as the state secretary of the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union. In May 2025, he was appointed as the Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science in the second Albanese ministry. Ayres is known for his focus on manufacturing policy and the 'Made in Australia' agenda.
