A long-serving member of the Australian Labor Party, he held the position of Treasurer of Victoria for a decade, serving under Premiers Daniel Andrews and Jacinta Allan. Before his parliamentary career, Pallas worked as a trade union official and as Chief of Staff to Premier Steve Bracks. Throughout his tenure, he held various ministerial portfolios, including Roads, Ports, Major Projects, and Trade.
