Toby Young is a British social commentator, journalist, and life peer in the House of Lords. A graduate of the University of Oxford, he has held various roles in media, including associate editor of The Spectator and founder of The Daily Sceptic. He is a prominent advocate for the free school movement in the UK and serves as the founder and director of the Free Speech Union. Throughout his career, he has been a frequent contributor to major British newspapers and has authored several books, including his 2001 memoir, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People.
