Previously, she served in the Missouri House of Representatives, representing the 88th district from 2015 to 2023 and the 83rd district from 2011 to 2013. A graduate of Ohio State University, McCreery began her career working for Joan Bray and in the administration of Governor Bob Holden. Originally elected as an independent, she is now a member of the Democratic Party and is known for her advocacy regarding women's bodily autonomy.
