Tsuyoshi Koyano is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Sayama in Saitama Prefecture. Born in Sayama, he graduated from Senshu University and began his career as a public secretary to a member of the House of Councillors. He served three terms as a member of the Sayama City Council, where he held the positions of vice-chair and chair. First elected mayor in 2015, he has focused his administration on urban redevelopment, including the Iriso Station area project, child-rearing support, and promoting local branding such as Sayama tea. In 2021, he introduced a partnership oath system for same-sex couples in the city.
