Yıldırım Tuğrul Türkeş is a Turkish economist and politician who has served as a Member of the Grand National Assembly for Ankara's first electoral district since 2007. The eldest son of Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) founder Alparslan Türkeş, he previously led the Bright Turkey Party from 1997 to 2002. In 2015, he accepted a ministerial position in the interim election government, leading to his suspension from the MHP and subsequent defection to the Justice and Development Party (AKP). He served as Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey from 2015 to 2017.
