Vahagn Hovakimyan

Vahagn Hovakimyan is an Armenian politician, lawyer, and journalist currently serving as the President of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia, a position he has held since October 2022. Previously, he was a member of the National Assembly of Armenia from 2019 to 2022, representing the My Step Alliance and later the Civil Contract party. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of the Civil Contract party's executive body and served as a member of the Yerevan City Council in 2018. His professional background includes work in law and journalism, and he completed studies in sociology, psychology, political science, and philosophy at Yerevan State University.
