Waichiro Aburano is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kahoku in Ishikawa Prefecture. Born in 1949, he graduated from Hosei University before working in the textile industry, eventually becoming a representative director at Aburano Textile Co., Ltd. He began his political career as a member of the Nanatsuka Town Council and served as the Mayor of Nanatsuka starting in 2000. Following the merger that created Kahoku City, he was elected as its first mayor in 2004 and has since secured six consecutive terms in office, maintaining his leadership through multiple re-elections.
