Yasmine Fouad

Yasmine Fouad is an Egyptian politician and environmental expert who has served as the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) since 2025. Previously, she served as the Minister of Environment of Egypt from 2018 to 2025, during which time she chaired the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh and the fourteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. She holds a PhD in Euro-Mediterranean studies from Cairo University and an MSc in environmental science from Ain Shams University.
