Yasushi Nakayama is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as the Mayor of Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture. Born in 1960, he graduated from Kyoto University and began his career as a civil servant in the Management and Coordination Agency, later holding positions in the Okinawa Development Agency and the Cabinet Office. Nakayama was first elected mayor of Kyotango in 2004 and has since served five terms, with a brief hiatus between 2016 and 2020. In addition to his administrative experience, he has served as a super-visiting professor at the iUniversity (Information and Management Innovation Professional University).
