Yoshimasa Nishihira is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Akune in Kagoshima Prefecture. Born in 1973, he graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at Kyushu University and previously worked in the poultry farming industry, managing his family's business and founding Green Poultry Garden. He entered politics following the political turmoil in Akune under his predecessor, Shinichi Takehara, participating in a recall movement against the former mayor. Nishihira was first elected as mayor in 2011 and has since been re-elected multiple times, focusing his administration on reversing the controversial policies and administrative decisions implemented by the previous mayoral term.
