Yuu Suzuki is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Noda in Chiba Prefecture. Born in 1956 in Noda, he graduated from Takushoku University before beginning his political career as a member of the Noda City Council, where he served as both vice-chair and chair. He was first elected mayor in 2016 and has since secured re-election twice. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on local governance, including fiscal measures during the COVID-19 pandemic and addressing historical issues such as the Fukuda Village Incident. Notably, he has expressed opposition to the restart of the Tokai No. 2 Nuclear Power Plant, citing potential safety risks to Noda City.
