Yumiko Shibata is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Miyawaka in Fukuoka Prefecture. Born in the former town of Wakamiya, she graduated from Kurate High School and the Daiichi Nursery Junior College. Before entering politics, she worked as a nursery teacher, a staff member for the Wakamiya Agricultural Cooperative, and a management consultant for the Wakamiya Chamber of Commerce. She served two terms as a member of the Miyawaka City Council starting in 2018. In March 2026, she was elected as the Mayor of Miyawaka, defeating the incumbent candidate.
