櫻田百合子

Yuriko Sakurada is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Towada City in Aomori Prefecture. Born in Tottori Prefecture, she served as a member of the Towada City Council for three terms starting in 2018, where she also held the position of Deputy Chair. In January 2025, she was elected as the first female mayor in Aomori Prefecture. Her political platform focuses on child-rearing support, including the reduction of fertility treatment costs and free childcare for children under three, as well as infrastructure development for local industries.
