Agnes Apea Atim

Agnes Apea Atim is a Ugandan politician and social entrepreneur serving as the women's representative for Amolatar District in the Parliament of Uganda. She is the founder and CEO of the Hope Development Initiative, an organization that supports female rice farmers and promotes agricultural cooperatives, earning her the nickname "Mama Rice." In addition to her legislative duties, she serves as the deputy chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture, Animal Industries & Fisheries and was recognized by the BBC's 100 Women programme in 2017 for her contributions to social justice and education.
